Four day tour to “Jaffna”

ITINERARY

Day 01 0430 Leave Colombo for Jaffna.

1100 Reach Omanthai check point and enter the LTTE

controlled area.

1300 Arrive at Murunkandy Kovil & attend rituals.

1400 Arrive at Kilinochchi where the Political Headquaters of

LTTE is situated and commence a brief city tour of

Kilinochchi with lunch at a restaurant.

1530 Pass through Elephant Pass

1600 Arrive at Muhamalai check point and enter the

government control area.

1800 Arrive in Jaffna.

Overnight stay at Hotel Yarl Paddy/ Tilko

Day 02 0700 Breakfast at the Hotel.

0730 Leave for Naga Deepa the historic Buddhist temple

and this journey includes a boat trip.

1300 Return to Jaffna for lunch.

1400 Leave for Keeramallai to visit holy bathing ponds.

1530 Visit Madagal ( Dambakola Patuna) where “Revarant

Sangamitta” landed with Bo sapling.

1630 Leave for Casuarina beach which is very popular among

the tourists.

Overnight stay at Hotel Yarl Paddy/ Tilko

Day 03 0730 Breakfast at the Hotel.

0800 Commence sightseeing in Jaffna including a visit to

the Point Pedro Light House, the northern most point

of Sri Lanka, Vallepuram Kovil.

1130 Visit Kandarodai Viharaya and this temple is

supposed to be 2000 years old.

1230 Lunch in Jaffna and at leisure.

1530 Commence Jaffna city tour including a visit to

NagaVihara, Nallura Kovil, Jaffna Library and

Jaffna Fort.

Overnight stay at Hotel Yarl Paddy/ Tilko

Day 04 0730 Breakfast at the Hotel.

0800 Leave for Colombo.

1230 Lunch at Killinochchi.

1330 Visit the Iranamadu Tank where even sea planes land.

2200 Arrive in Colombo.
